Looking Forward to the Weekend!

  I can hardly wait for this weekend! I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now, and it’s finally almost here. So many fun things are happening, and I’m ready to fast-forward a few days. From our final OAC game and daylight savings to Halloween parties and celebrating my 21st birthday, I am beyond excited for what’s to come! First up, we have our last OAC game against John Carroll, who is ranked in the top 25 and is definitely our biggest rival. This game means a lot to us, and I’m eager to see how we perform. The energy will be high, and I know everyone will give their all. Our games against JCU are notoriously intense because they are our biggest rivals. Historically, it’s been John Carroll and us that usually win the OAC every year, which makes our rivalry even stronger. I hope we can beat John Carroll and kick off a fantastic weekend! LinkedIn is a powerful platform where professionals connect and grow. It is not just for job searching; it is also an important tool for marketing. Both businesses and individuals use LinkedIn to share content, engage with their audience and, promote their products and services. One of the main ways people market on LinkedIn is by sharing content. Companies and professionals post articles, updates and, helpful information that their audience finds interesting. By sharing valuable content, they can establish themselves as experts in their fields. This builds trust and encourages others to engage with them. I often see my connections sharing relevant articles or updates, which inspires me to do the same. Engagement is very important on LinkedIn. Marketing with Pinterest!

  Pinterest is a visual pinboard-style social sharing network where people discover and save ideas. Every idea is represented by a "Pin" that includes an image or video, a description and, a link back to an online source. Pinterest allows users to save and categorize images into different boards. Once a pin is added, others will see that pin on their Pinterest home feed and can save the pin to their boards. I’ve never used Pinterest, but I know a handful of friends and family who enjoy it for inspiration and new ideas. It can be used as a social media outline to advertise and market products, items or, ideas. Weekend Reflection

Looking back on my weekend, I enjoyed playing soccer, hanging out with friends and, spending time at the cider mill. Saturday started with a soccer game against Capital, where we gave it our all on the field. After the game, I spent quality time with my teammates and family, enjoying some much-needed time to relax. Sunday began with a recovery breakfast, followed by a trip to the cider mill, watching Lions football and, some studying. This blog will capture a more in-depth look at all of the things that I did this weekend! Saturday, we had an important game against Capital University, which was our first true test in the OAC. Before Capital, we held a record of 4-0 in the OAC while capturing a shutout in every game up to that point. We started the game off strong and had great energy, but one mistake in the back cost us a very uncharacteristic goal in the closing minutes of the first half. As I scroll through my feed, I notice how effectively many brands and creators use Snapchat for marketing. Brands can share behind-the-scenes content, special promotions, and real-time updates that resonate with their audience. Fall Break!

This fall break was a mix of soccer and quality family time. I couldn’t be home for the entire break because of our game against Muskingum on Saturday, but it turned out to be a fantastic day. We won 6-0, which was a huge confidence booster for the team. With this win, we’re on a solid roll in the OAC, now with three wins and three shutouts. The energy going into the game was intense; even though we knew we were favored, we still had to prove it on the field. We did just that, and the result was very convincing. After the game, I drove home to spend time with my family. The colder weather is creeping in, so I also needed to grab some warmer clothes. I was really excited to be back home and see my family and my two dogs, Findlay and Piper. One of my favorite fall traditions is visiting the cider mill with my family. Midterms are finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited—to get them over with. Like many students, I see midterms and exams as a very stressful and chaotic time. No matter how much I study, review, or practice, I always seem to fold under pressure when the exam is right in front of me. Over the years, I have tried many tips and tricks to stop this from happening. The main thing that has helped me in the past two years of college is creating a distraction-free environment for studying. I am known for being an extroverted person who enjoys laughing and making others laugh. This can be a positive thing in many situations, but when my friends are trying to get their work done, it isn’t always the best quality to have. There have been many times when I went to the library to get work done but ended up just talking and socializing the whole time. I often leave feeling unproductive, which is frustrating. Instagram has been a part of my life since I got my first phone in 6th grade, and I have managed to build my profile as the years have passed. In Chapter 5: Marketing with Instagram, several insights stood out to me regarding this social media platform. For instance, it mentions that Instagram is the 4th most popular social media platform in the world; however, if you were to ask me without prior knowledge, I would have assumed it was Instagram.
