The Power of Social Media (Chapter 1)
Social media has become a major factor in job hunting, especially in marketing. Since younger people and generations are so familiar with these platforms, they're in high demand for managing social media accounts for companies. There has been a huge shift from traditional ads to social media, with platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram (now X), and TikTok changing how we connect and advertise. The book shows how fast social media grew compared to older technologies. Social media ads reach a lot of people and can build brand loyalty, but they don’t always convert into sales as effectively as expected. They also reach larger audiences and different areas of the world in a matter of seconds. Understanding the difference between engagement and actual conversions is key to successful marketing.
As a young aspiring marketer, I look forward to working with different social media platforms and helping build companies social reputation. Growing up, I truly can't remember a time when social media wasn't involved in my life. It encourages me to continue pursuing a marketing career going forward knowing companies are in search of employees with the skills, knowledge, and abilities, of using social media!
