Coming to a Close!
As this semester wraps up and final exams approach, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has gone by. I’m almost halfway through my junior year of college, and it feels like just yesterday I was still in high school. Time really does fly. Looking back on the past few months, there’s a lot I’m grateful for. From making new friends to having some great professors, this semester has been full of growth and new experiences. One of the biggest highlights has been living next to my best friends and teammates after being far apart last year. Overall, this semester has been a mix of challenges, achievements, and moments that have shaped my college experience.
Living with my teammates this year has been a big change. When I first found out I’d be living on the same floor as six of my teammates, I was excited. Last year, I was placed in the sophomore dorms while most of my friends were in the affinity dorms. I often felt left out because I couldn’t spend as much time with everyone. Although I was always invited to hang out, it wasn’t the same as being right there with them. This year, I went from walking across campus to see them to just crossing the hall. Living with them has definitely had its ups and downs, but it’s been an experience that has brought us closer. It’s shown me how much of an impact the people you live with can have on your daily life. I’ve learned a lot about balancing personal space with building relationships, and it’s made me appreciate these friendships even more.
On top of that, the soccer team had a strong season. Our goal from the start was to win a national championship, and we knew it would take hard work and a lot of dedication to make that happen. While we didn’t win it all, we still achieved a lot as a team and grew together. I’m proud of the effort everyone put in, and the memories we created along the way are something I’ll always remember. Being part of this team has been a great experience, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. As I look ahead to my senior season, I’m motivated to keep working hard and hopefully bring a national championship to Ada.
Looking back on this semester, I realize it’s been a time of growth, both on and off the field. The relationships I’ve built, the challenges I’ve faced, and the lessons I’ve learned have made this year an important part of my college journey. I’m ready for whatever comes next, and I’m looking forward to the new opportunities and experiences the next semester will bring.
Even though this semester seems to have flown by, I’m glad you still enjoyed it! Living near your friends is definitely a plus. I hope your next semester is just as great, with just as many lessons to learn! Next semester will be great, and hopefully much warmer weather. I’m ready for these cold snowy days to come to an end.
