Meeting Expectations

     As I wrap up another summer and get ready to start my junior year of college, I can't help but wonder where all the time has gone yet again. I look forward to this year for many different reasons and opportunities. I am especially excited to participate in what I hope will be another successful season for the ONU Men's Soccer Team. After making it to the NCAA round of 16 last season, we enter this year ranked #15 in the country. I have been fortunate to travel to many places while being a team member such as Boston, Chicago, and Virginia. This year we are scheduled to play in Colorado and St. Louis, but intend to travel some more assuming we make the NCAA tournament and play in the National Championship in Las Vegas. Additionally, I am eager to get back into the swing of things in the classroom and continue to build upon what I’ve accomplished so far. This year is especially pivotal as I aim to set myself up for a summer internship in 2025. Overall, I am grateful to be able to have these expectations in my life and the pressure that comes along with them!

    That sounds like an exciting upcoming season! It's great to hear how well the ONU Men's Soccer Team performed the last season and looking forward to another great year. I hope that you are able to get an internship opportunity and advance your career! I am also looking forward to getting an internship in the near future to help push my career in the right direction. Good luck to you and the team for a successful year and traveling adventures along with academic prosperity.

  Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, and this year was no exception. After weeks of busy classes and homework, I was excited to go home and spend the break with my family. Thanksgiving is always a time for great food, fun activities, and making memories. This year, I enjoyed participating in the Turkey Trout, watching the Detroit Lions football game, and eating delicious meals. My family and I participated in the Turkey Trout for the first time, and it was a great experience. Before the race, I told my family I wasn’t planning to run ahead and leave them behind because I wanted to enjoy the experience together. This past weekend, I had the chance to celebrate my birthday with all my friends and family. It was not just any birthday. It was my 21st, a milestone I had been looking forward to for a long time. I can’t even describe how excited I was for this day to finally arrive. Turning 21 is a big deal because it comes with so many new opportunities and freedoms. At 21, you can legally drink, rent a car, gamble and, even apply for a pilot’s license. It is an age that opens up new doors and marks the beginning of a new chapter in life.
